Clients make a decision about you in under 10 seconds. Your bio either earns their attention or loses it. Most creator bios waste those 10 seconds listing what they do instead of showing what the client gets.
Who you are (1 sentence)
Your expertise, where you're based, how long you've been doing this. Be specific — '8 years' beats 'years of experience'.
What they get (2 sentences)
Not what you do — what changes for the client. 'Cinematic portraits that tell your story' beats 'photography'. Speak to the outcome.
Why you (1 sentence)
The feeling clients walk away with. Not your credentials — the experience.
What good looks like
"I'm Amara, a Kampala-based cultural guide with 8 years exploring Uganda's hidden gems. I design private day experiences that take you beyond tourist trails — into local markets, art studios, and kitchens where real life happens. Clients tell me they leave feeling like they actually lived here, even for just a day."
Don't list your services in your bio. Don't say 'passionate professional'. Don't write in third person. These kill trust before it starts.
Read your bio out loud. If it sounds like a brochure, rewrite it until it sounds like you talking to a friend who just asked what you do.
