Personal Safety: The Basics

Velvet Africa has safety features built into every booking. But tools only work if you know how to use them. Read this once, remember it permanently.

Before you meet any client

✓Confirm identity through the platform only — never meet someone who hasn't made an official booking
✓Tell someone you trust: where you're going, who you're meeting, when to expect you back
✓First-time clients: meet in a public place before moving to any private setting
✓Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong before the session, it's wrong. Cancel early. Your rating is recoverable. Your safety isn't.

The distress button

In any active booking screen, there is a discreet emergency button. Pressing it immediately alerts our safety team with your GPS location and booking details. Find it before you ever need it — not during.

Red flags — act on these immediately

✓Client pushing to meet before or outside the official booking
✓Last-minute location change to somewhere isolated
✓Requests to pay cash or bypass the platform
✓Uncomfortable personal questions — your home address, daily schedule, relationship status
✓Aggressive or sexual messages in chat

If you feel unsafe during a session: end it, remove yourself to safety, then contact support. Your safety comes before the booking, your rating, and the client's feelings. Always.
