How paying works on Velvet: you pay Velvet, not the creator. Velvet sends the creator half when you book, and the rest only after the meetup. If the creator cancels or does not come, you can ask Velvet for your money back.
Step 1: Register as a Creator
Go to the Creator Registration page and sign up with your email address or phone number. Fill in your basic information and submit your account for review. Unlike client registration, creator accounts require additional verification before your profile goes live.
Step 2: Complete Identity Verification
Velvet Africa's verification process protects both creators and clients. You will be asked to:
- Submit a government-issued ID (national ID, passport, or driving permit)
- Complete a photo verification step to confirm your appearance matches your profile
- Agree to the platform's creator terms of service and code of conduct
Verification typically takes 24 to 48 hours. You will be notified by email once your account is approved. Verified creators receive the blue badge that significantly increases client trust and booking rates.
Step 3: Build Your Profile

Step 6: Manage Earnings and Withdrawals
When a client completes a booking, payment is held by Velvet until you confirm the booking. Once confirmed, your earnings (the booking amount minus Velvet Africa's platform commission) are credited to your creator wallet. You can withdraw to your MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, or bank account at any time from your dashboard.
