Content Policy & Complaints

Velvet Africa is a verified marketplace. Every person who appears has proved who they are and consented on camera to being here. This page sets out what is not allowed and how to get content removed.

Age and consent verification

✓Every creator completes a government-ID check before they can list, take a booking, or publish content.
✓Every creator completes a live video liveness check in which they state their name, confirm they are 18 or over, and consent on camera to appearing on Velvet Africa. That recording is retained as the consent record.
✓The liveness recording is matched against the ID document and against the profile photographs, so the person who appears is the person who was verified.
✓Records of identity and age verification are retained for as long as the content remains available, and afterwards for the period required by law.
✓Anyone appearing in content alongside a creator must themselves be verified. A creator publishing content featuring an unverified person is in breach of this policy.

What is not allowed

✕Anyone under 18, or content that presents an adult as a minor. This is the line we enforce hardest and it has no exceptions.
✕Any person who has not personally consented to appearing — including a partner, a former partner, or anyone filmed without their knowledge.
✕Content published to harass, expose, blackmail or take revenge on the person in it.
✕Non-consensual acts, coercion, or anything presenting force as consented to.
✕Trafficking, exploitation, or advertising a person as available through someone else's control.
✕Bestiality, incest, or content sexualising family relationships.
✕Blood, serious injury, or content presenting real harm as entertainment.
✕Drugs offered, sold or depicted being supplied.
✕Weapons offered or sold.
✕Someone else's content published as your own, or any material you do not hold the rights to.
✕Contact details, addresses, workplaces or identity documents belonging to another person.
✕Payment taken outside the platform, or attempts to move a booking off Velvet Africa to avoid escrow and verification.

Breaching this policy ends the account. Where the breach involves a minor, a person who did not consent, or trafficking, we preserve the evidence and report it to the appropriate authority.

Reporting content for removal

You do not need an account to report content. Anyone can report anything on Velvet Africa, including a person who appears in content and never agreed to it.

Response time. We acknowledge every report within 24 hours and resolve within 7 days. A report alleging that content shows a minor, or shows someone who did not consent, is escalated immediately and the content is removed while it is reviewed rather than after.

Removal is permanent. Removed content is hash-blocked so the same file cannot be uploaded again by anyone.

Appeals. A creator whose content was removed can appeal by replying to the removal notice. A different reviewer handles the appeal.
