If you are new to Velvet Africa, this guide is for you. Whether you heard about the platform from a friend, found it through a search, or stumbled across it while looking for companion or wellness services in Uganda, this article will walk you through everything you need to know to get started quickly, safely, and confidently.
What Is Velvet Africa?
Velvet Africa is Uganda's premier online platform for booking verified companion, massage, and entertainment services. The platform connects clients with a curated network of verified service providers — called creators — across Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, and other parts of Uganda. All creators are identity-verified, all payments are secure, and all interactions are private.
Step 1: Register Your Account
Registration takes less than five minutes. Go to the registration page and sign up with your email address or phone number. You will receive a verification code by SMS or email. Once verified, set up your display name — this is what creators will see when you contact them. You do not need to use your real name.
Step 2: Set Up Your Profile
Your user profile is minimal and private. Add a display name and optionally a brief description. Your real contact details are never shared. The profile is mainly used for your own records and to help creators identify returning clients.
Step 3: Top Up Your Wallet
Velvet Africa uses an internal wallet system for payments. Before making a booking, top up your wallet using:
- MTN Mobile Money
- Airtel Money
- Visa or Mastercard
Your wallet balance is shown on your dashboard. When you complete a booking, the amount is deducted from your wallet and held securely until the booking is confirmed by both parties. Full payment details are covered in our guide: Mobile Money and Card Payments on Velvet Africa.
Step 4: Browse Creators
Head to the explore page to start browsing. You can filter by service type, location, price range, and verification status. Click on any creator's card to see their full profile — photos, bio, service listings, availability, and client reviews.

Step 5: Make Your First Booking
Once you have found a creator you want to book, select their service package, check availability, and proceed to checkout. Your wallet balance is used to complete the payment. You will receive a booking confirmation immediately, and the creator will be notified to confirm on their end.
Step 6: After Your Booking
After completing your booking, leave an honest review. Reviews are the most important tool the Velvet Africa community has for maintaining quality. Your review helps future clients and rewards excellent creators. Reviews are only collected from verified bookings — your review is trusted because it is verified.
Tips for New Users
- Always choose verified creators for your first booking — the blue badge means their identity is confirmed
- Read at least 5 reviews before booking a new creator
- Message the creator first if you have any specific questions or requirements
- Never pay outside the platform — all legitimate transactions happen within Velvet Africa's secure system
